Henkel is a top sustainability performer
“We are pleased that our sustainability performance has been rated so positively once again,” says Dr. Friedrich Stara, Executive Vice President Laundry & Home Care, at the awards ceremony, which took place parallel to the World Economic Forum in Davos on January 25.
The day before, on January 24, Henkel had been listed – also in Davos – once again under the “Global 100: Most Sustainable Corporations of the World.” This rating is presented by the financial consultants Innovest Strategic Value Advisors, based in Richmond Hill, Canada.
“These good external ratings confirm that our strategy of sustainability and corporate social responsibility is understood by our stakeholders,” says Stara. “We assume this responsibility wherever Henkel operates. We contribute to society through our brands and technologies, while always striving to harmonize economic, ecological and social objectives.”
One current example is the introduction of compact heavy duty detergents in Middle and Eastern Europe – within the Laundry Sustainability Project of the International Association for Soaps, Detergents and Maintenance Products A.I.S.E. By further optimizing the formulation, Henkel has decreased the necessary dosage per wash cycle by one third – from 150 to 100 grams. To help consumers become accustomed to the new dosage amounts, an appropriately graduated scoop is enclosed in every pack of compact powder detergent.
At a press conference on March 22, 2007, in Düsseldorf, Henkel will present its sustainability strategy as well as its sustainability performance 2006. Further information on sustainability and corporate social responsibility can be found on the Sustainability section.
