On Sunday, August 3, 2008, Henkel will once again offer all equestrian fans exciting horse racing at its very best. Starting at 12:30 p.m., the Düsseldorf-Grafenberg race track will be transformed into the centerpiece of European flat racing. The “Henkel Race Day for the Preis der Diana” ranks among the most prominent events in German flat racing. In 2007, more than 20,000 spectators flocked to the Düsseldorf flat racing track.

The “Preis der Diana”
This year, the “Preis der Diana“ celebrates its 150th anniversary. It enjoys an excellent reputation around the world and is considered to be the German counterpart to the French “Prix de Diane“ as well as the English “Oaks”. The race ranks among the most prominent classic thoroughbred trials in Germany. People across the globe closely follow the results, due to the fact that a future breeding mare will often be worth millions after a victory. This highest level of competition is classified as a European Group I race. The field for this German Oaks consists exclusively of three-year-old fillies over a distance of 2,200 meters.

Henkel has been committed to promoting flat racing in the regional capital for many years, and has organized a Group II race for several years along with the classic Henkel Race Day. Since 2003, the company has also supported the “Henkel Trial”, which traditionally opens the flat racing season at the Düsseldorf-Grafenberg racecourse. In 2006, Henkel had the “Preis der Diana” transferred to Düsseldorf.
